Spinvis, which literally translates as 'Spiderfish', is Erik de Jong's artist name, a Dutchman who lives in the suburban jungle of Nieuwegein. He produced his first album (titled Spinvis) in his attic, with computers, samplers, musical instruments and other objects lying around. Most remarkable are his poetic lyrics, that are often nonsensical and non-consecutive. His second album, Dagen van Gras, Dagen van Strowas released in 2005. The "Popprijs 2006" was given to Spinvis on the "Noorderslagfestival" in Groningen.
